It is a Penn, so it should last for years. Be aware that it's small size will prevent you from mounting it on a 6'6" or larger casting rod; however, it will fit on any saltwater rod. I recommend this reel for anyone using a small rod with light line (20lb and lower) for anything else I would go with the 209. It is a larger, easier to use reel that looks exactly the same and also comes with rod mounting hardware, that the 9M does not.
this product is a better buy, good materials and high performance, im very happy with my buy.. excelent amazon
