Scotty's 279 Bait Caster/Spinning Rod Holder holds a bait caster reel in a cushioned cradle. A slot in the front of the rod holder allows for a spinning reel to be securely held in position. The rod holder design has a side mounted flange, which leaves the bottom open. This allows for the rod holder to accommodate trigger grips. Pistol grip rod butts easily clear the sides of the rod holder for quick rod retrieval. Rod can be secured in holder with a soft latching strap which snaps over the top. No mount included.

I purchased two of these rod holders and mounted them to my kayak. It's great for trolling or to hold your poles while you are paddling around. The rod holders are very sturdy and the angles (horizontal and vertical) can be adjusted to suit your needs. The rod holder can easily be removed from the mount when you don't need them. Scotty also offers a wide variety of accessories that can be attached to the mount if you want to further customize your setup. I would definitely recommend this product.
